He was a lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish and the beloved son of Danny Roussel Jr. and Gail Faucheux Roussel. He is also survived by his sister, Christy, and his grandparents, John and Fay Faucheux and Deacon Ted Roussel, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, his father's spouse, Anne and his faithful lab, Rebel. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Joyce Faucheux and Toby Roussel. Daniel's passions were for music, hunting, baseball and building or repairing things; he had a strong mechanical aptitude. He was a very compassionate young man, giving freely of himself to family and friends. He was loved by many and his smile and hugs were a gift from God. Daniel was to be admired for his persistence, loving heart and his constant drive to succeed in whatever he attempted. The family extends a special thanks to his core friends who he appreciated for their strength and support during the many phases of his life. Daniel's life was lived to its fullest and we believe he now flies with the angels. Those attending his funeral service wore guardian angel pins to signify this. Daniel was an individual whose compassion for others, local spirit and generous heart impacted so many in this community. A Funeral Mass to honor Daniel's life was held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan on Oct. 21, 2011 with an estimated 750 people in attendance. Wrist bands simply stating "Buckle Up for Daniel" were distributed in an effort to save. The family requests a memorial donation to the Daniel K. Roussel III Memorial Fund at any Capital One Bank. The family's intention is to help create an impact awareness program to assist St. Charles Parish youth. Arrangements were by L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home. ===================
