Kilby was a native of Thomaston, Georgia and resided in Killeen, Texas. He was a 2004 graduate of Upson-Lee High School in Thomaston, Georgia and 2006 graduate of the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina with a degree in Automotive Engineering and Fabrication. He worked as an auto and motorcycle mechanic. Kilby was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Delta-112 1st CAV Infantry (MOS-Tanker), having served a tour of duty in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Kilby lived life to the fullest every single day. He enjoyed all activities outdoors - hunting, fishing, paintball and anything John Deere. Spending time with his family and friends made him the happiest and he cherished them dearly. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda Harris Logan of Luling, Louisiana; his biological father, Donavon Logan of Chickamauga, Georgia; father, Vincent DePriest of Thomaston, Georgia; three sisters, Tiffiny Springer of Tampa, Florida, Shelby Dawson and Ashley DePriest both of Thomaston, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Rae DePriest-Logan; one brother, Phoenix Nick Lewis; and grandmother, Betty "Nana" DePriest. A memorial service was held at Stillhouse Hollow Lake on Thursday May 3, 2012 in Belton, Texas. Kilby took his final flight on April 28th far beyond the clouds, joining the free spirits of the Hawks. A fare-thee-well send off to him was signified by his wife and many friends, who will miss him dearly, with memories and stories as they released individual yellow and green balloons into the evening skies. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5, 2012 at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel in Thomaston, Georgia. His final resting place was next to his brother Nick in Thomaston, Georgia.
