Thomas Ray Sparks, Sr., age 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 
Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve. 

He was a Union Steward and Master Mechanic at Bunge Grain for 18 years and 
veteran of World War II with the U. S. Coast Guard.

Husband of the late Verla Mae Sparks, son of the late Martha White and Harrison 
Sparks, father of Thomas Sparks, Jr. (Debbra) of Reserve, LA , brother of 
Marilyn Tittleton of Dallas, TX, grandfather of Aaron and Emily Sparks, Ian 
Gibbs, Amber Whitten and Amanda Malley, great-grandfather of Matthew, MaKayla 
and Madalyn Whitten and Gracie Hudson, Byron Billiot who was considered another 
son and nephew, Greg Sparks of Dallas, TX

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at 
Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, 4080 W. Airline Hwy, Reserve, LA. 
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm at the Veterans Home. 

He will later be placed at sea by the U. S. Coast Guard.

A special thanks to the nurses, staff and administrators at the Veterans Home 
for their expressions of kindness and thoughtfulness.

Arrangements are under the direction of H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco.
