A native of McNeill, MS, and a resident of Luling for 54 years, a veteran in the Korean Conflict with the U. S. Army and was with the Maintenance Department of Cytec/American Cyanamid for 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Earline "Teenie" Dufresne Spiers, daughter, Natalie Tauzin (Dennis, Jr.). Brother, Jack Spiers and sisters, Shirley S. Hollimon and Peggy S. Garriga. Grandchildren, Dillon Anthony and Logan Leah Tauzin. Preceded in death by his parents; Blanche O'Dell and Robert S. Spiers, Sr, and step-mother Hazel Spiers. Brother, Robert S. Spiers, Jr., brother-in-law Hugh Hollimon, sisters-in-law Fran and Jean Spiers and mother-in-law Leah Clouate Dufresne. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 9:00 am until 11:15 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 155 Holy Family Lane, Luling. Rosary will be said at 10:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Military Honors will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 1279 Paul Maillard Road, Luling. Fr. John Perino celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Region Hospice, 507 Upstream, River Ridge, LA 70123, Holy Family Church, or Masses. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of River Region Hospice for their care and support. Arrangements are under the direction of H. C.
