Hymel Brady, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 5, 2013. She was born on July 27, 1924 in Montz, LA. to Wilfred and Georgina Keller. She was a resident of Norco, LA for the past 65 years as the wife of the late Urbin C. Hymel by first marriage and Oscar Brady by second marriage. The sister of the late; Earl J. Keller (Gladys), Bessie K. Brignac (Albert) and Corrine K. McMillian (Calvin). She is the mother of Gary C. Hymel (Santa), Nancy H. Navaille (Steve), Dale J. Hymel (Sherry) the late Bonnie H. Carr (Dennis deceased), Mary H. Rohan (John) and Dennis J. Hymel. Step mother of Wayne Brady (Blanche) and Richard Brady (Rita). Dedicated to the spiritual guidance of her 13 grand children, 5 step grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 10 step great grandchildren, also her numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn enjoyed the company of her many great friends and club members. She was an avid reader and loved her garden. Her devotion to her family and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church were the great joys in her life. She was awarded the New Orleans Archdiocese Order of St. Louis. Member of the Sacred Heat of Jesus (Norco) Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters, the Holy Name of Jesus Society, Sacred Heart Bible study group, and the Marion Movement of Priests. As a long time 2nd grade religion teacher, Evelyn guided children to their first Communion. She was also a member of the St. Charles Parish Senior Citizens Club, held numerous office positions in the American Legion Spillway Post 195 Auxiliary, and the Norco Homemakers Club. She and Oscar were recipients of the Louisiana Association of Family and Community Education Great American Family Award in 1985. The family would like to express sincere thanks to Father Terry Becnel, Ladies Altar Society, Sister Susana with Sister Servants of Mary and St. Joseph Hospice for their devoted spiritual and physical care during her illness. Services are to be held on Wednesday May 8 for visitation from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 401 Spruce St. Norco, LA. Interment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum Destrehan, LA. In lieu of flowers, masses or donoations are preferred in her memory at Sacred Heart of Jesus church. ===================
