Danford, 84, transitioned into heaven on Friday, March 15 at 10:20 p.m. to be rejoined with his beloved wife, Sue Danford. Jack was a dedicated and loving father to W. Patrick Danford, Jana Lynn D. (Wayne) Knight and the late Joseph L. (Connie) Danford. Paw-Paw Jack was dearly loved by his nine grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, with two more on the way this spring, and a host of nieces and nephews. Jack was born and raised in West Virginia for 40 years, resided in Luling and Farmerville, La. for 39 years and lived with his daughter in Joliet, Ill. since 2006. A U.S. Army veteran who also served in the West Virginia National Guard for 17 years. He was a retired employee of Union Carbide after 34 years of service. Jack was also a volunteer fireman, a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriner's. Jack was always active in his church, the community and he enjoyed helping others. A private Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
