Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. A Mass of Christian Burial was also celebrated Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and burial followed in Sunset Cemetery, Bayou Gauche. He is survived by his sons, C.J. and Marvin Dempster; daughter, Diana Ledet; step-sons, Irvin and David Granier; step-daughters, Adeline Foster and Loretta Landry; brother, Jerry Dempster; nine grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Bourgeois Dempster; his second wife, Sidonia Granier Dempster; son, Kane Dempster; daughter, Sarah Dempster, step-daughter, Eleanor Matherne; parents, Joseph and Bertilia Matherne Dempster; brothers, Gracian, Horace, Gillis, Morris, Tex and Antoine Dempster; sisters Marie Rome and Lucie Dasche; and two grandchildren.
