John Kent Jackson, Jr. passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013. 

Devoted husband of Mary Melancon Jackson for 64 years. 
Loving father of Scott, Sybil J. Dominique, Tim (Holly), Bob (Lisa), Ray 
(Sheryl) and David (Donna). 
A proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

Son of the late Mary Stanga Jackson and John Kent Jackson, Sr. 
Preceded in death by his sister, Donyce J. Smith and his brother, Charles P. 
Jackson, Sr. 

He was also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and 
friends. 

Age 89, a native of Hammond, LA and a resident of Norco and Tickfaw. 

John served his country during World War II in the United States Army, during 
that time, he earned 2 Purple Hearts. 

He attended Loyola and earned a Bachelor degree. He worked as the Senior 
Purchasing Agent for Shell Oil in Norco for 38 years. 
John spent his time hunting, fishing and playing Texas Hold'em Poker. 

The family would like to thank Maria, Willie, Charmaine and the entire staff of 
Southeastern War Veterans Home in Reserve for their compassionate care of John. 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Catholic Church. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church, Norco, LA on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 12:00 noon. 
Visitation from 10:00 am until funeral time.
