Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stcharles/photos/obits/2013 and click on the name of interest. ========== Alfred Montalto, Sr. passed away, at the age of 87, on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at his home in Destrehan, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Ione Gonzales Montalto for 65 ½ years, loving father of Alfred Montalto, Jr. and wife Eulalie Negrotto Montalto, Richard M. Montalto and wife Donna Ciolino Montalto, Lawrence J.(Lance)Montalto, Melanie Montalto Ryan and husband Jeffrey T. Ryan, 17 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren, that will miss him dearly. His parents Lawrence Montalto and Mamie Morici Montalto, his sister Lorraine Montalto Boasso and husband Herbert Boasso, and 4 Great Grandchildren preceded him in death. Mr. Montalto, a New Orleans native, graduated from Warren Easton High School and attended Tulane University. A Veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. Following the war he played trumpet with Pat Barberot Orchestra. He retired from Cooper T. Smith & Sons after 30+ years, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for several years. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road Destrehan, LA, on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Sisters Servants of Mary or St. Charles Borromeo Church are kindly preferred. Arrangements are under the direction of H.C.
