P.J. Rogers, 87, a resident of Des Allemands, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013. He passed peacefully at the South East Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve. Visitation was on Friday, Oct. 11 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Genevia S. Rogers; son, Marlin Rogers and wife Eileen; daughters, Cindy Braud and husband Tommy and Sue Hogan and husband Bryan; brother, Roy Rogers; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Philibert and Edna G. Rogers; brothers, Lawrence, Guy, Clarence Rogers and sister, Gladys Rousselle. P.J. retired from Avondale Shipyard. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran where he served on the U.S.S. Boxer. He was a Past Commander of American Legion Post 316 and Past Officer of the VFW Post 3750. He was a Constable and served on St. Charles Parish Hospital Board. P.J. also served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. He dedicated his life to family, church and community. In lieu of flowers donations for Masses or to South East Louisiana War Veterans Home. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements. ===================
