He was a United States Coast Guard veteran. A memorial gathering will be held at his mother’s house at 1412 McHugh Road in Baker on Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A memorial will also be held at Fisherman’s Wharf in Bayou Gauche on Sunday, July 21 at 1 p.m. Survived by his mother, Martha F. Stiles of Baker; son and daughter-in-law, Preston and Kim Stiles; three grandchildren, AJ, Alexis and Andrew Stiles, all of Conway, Ark.; life companion and caregiver, Nancy "Maw-Nan" Bledsoe of Bayou Gauche; brother and sister-in-law, Richard J. and Sandy Stiles of Baker; dear friend, Jerry Wayne Toups of Bayou Gauche; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him greatly. Preceded in death by his father, Thomas Stiles; two brothers, Billy W. and Michael Stiles. ===================
