Isobel May Southey Byrd passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014. 
She was a native of New Zealand and longtime resident of Destrehan, La. 

She was the loving wife of the late Monroe Lynox Byrd. 
She is survived by her children; Jane, Ronald, Mark and Paul. Grandmother of 11 
grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. 
She was the daughter of the late Herbert G. and Matilda Beattie Southey. Sister 
of Robert Armour Southey and the late James Herbert Southey. Isobel had a 
passion for growing plants and flowers, which was made easy with her green 
thumb, feeding and watching her birds. She also enjoyed reading and traveling, 
but most of all she had a love for spending time with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at H.C. 
Alexander Funeral Home, 821 Fourth St. Norco, La 70079, on Thursday, May 8, 
2014 at 7PM, a visitation will be from 6PM-7PM.
