Walter Joseph Fonseca, Sr., 73, a native and resident of Des Allemands, passed 
away on Thursday, Oct. 30.

A visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 2 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des 
Allemands followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. 

Fonseca was buried in the St. Gertrude Catholic Church Church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Fonseca; son Walter Fonseca, Jr.; daughters, 
Melissa Martindale, Libby Landry; brothers, Edward Fonseca, Joseph Fonseca, 
Leon Fonseca; sisters, Josephine Frieze, Agnes Murry; and 14 grandchildren and 
a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Domethile Fonseca; siblings, 
Raymond, Warren, Felicia, Myrtle, Bernice, Mamie and Margaret.

Falgout Funeral Homes handled the arrangements.
