A native of Dutchtown, LA and a resident of Norco, LA for the past 85 years. He proudly served in the US Army in WWII and was recently awarded the French Legion of Honor Award. Retired from Shell Oil Norco in 1984. Enjoyed an active retirement, with his greatest joy being spending time with his family. He recently returned from a wonderful trip to the Caribbean with his children. Beloved husband of the late Dulce Matthews Guidry of 51 years. Son of the late Alexander F. and Estelle Braud Guidry. Brother of Ida G. Schexnayder and the late Leroy Guidry. Beloved father of Karen Deroche (Gary), Dianne Turner (Bill), Patricia Magee (Sam), Michael Guidry (Sophia), Joan St. Pierre (Adrian). A proud grandfather of Lonna Bagwell, Timothy Deroche, Ret Turner, Andrew & Ryan Magee, Michael II and Mallory Guidry, Amanda Smith, Janice and Nicholas DePriest. Great Grandfather of Caleb, Noah & Matthew Bagwell, Ethan Smith, Blake Turner and Konnor Weiss. He is also survived by a loving niece, two nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 401 Spruce St., Norco, LA on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 12:00 pm. Visitation from 8:30 am until 11:45 am at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home, 821 Fourth St. Norco, LA. Interment will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, 13396 River Rd., Destrehan, LA.
