He was born in Jackson, MS on October 3, 1947. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air force and was retired from ADT Security after 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer and bass fisherman before his illness. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Emily. He was a very caring and giving man and everyone who knew him, loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Anita Cook McCarty, his son Shane McCarty (Katie) and one granddaughter, Emily McCarty of Sea Brook, TX. He is also survived by his brothers Carl Cranford and Kenny Cranford and two sisters Annette Cranford and Sandy Brown of Jackson, MS, and his sisters' in- law, Kay Riley, Peggy Berry (Dave), and numerous nieces and nephews all from Jackson, MS. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. The celebration of life gathering will be on Saturday, November 15 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at his residence.
