She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 ? years Alfred Montalto, Sr. Sister of Mrs. Joy Gonzales Reuther and husband Maurice Reuther of Covington, Kentucky. Loving mother of Alfred Montalto, Jr. and wife Eulalie Negrotto Montalto, Richard M. Montalto and wife Donna Ciolino Montalto, Lawrence J.(Lance) Montalto, Melanie Montalto Ryan and husband Jeffery T. Ryan, 17 Grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, that will miss her dearly. Her parents Bernard P. Gonzales and Alma Hingle Gonzales, her sister Jean Gonzales Candebat, and 4 great grandchildren precede her in death. Mrs. Montalto, a New Orleans native, sang with Pat Barberlot Orchestra in the 40's. An artist, she served as President of Metairie Art Guild in the 80's and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for several years. Sincere thanks and gratitude to the management and staff of Tranquil Living in Marrero, La for their excellent care and love over the past year. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM, on Thursday June 19, 2014, prior to an 11:30AM Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, La.
