Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stcharles/photos/obits/2014 and click on the name of interest. ========== Raymond John Steele Sr. "Rip" was called home to be with our Lord savior for eternal rest on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the age of 84. He was the father of 5 children; Raymond Steele Jr., the late Colleen Steele, Debbie Steele, Christy Steele and Amy Steele de la Gardelle and son-in law Keith. He is survived by 11 grandchildren, and one on the way, and numerous great grandchildren. He was the son of the late Samuel Steele Sr. and Lucille Steele, and the brother of the late Samuel Steele Jr. Pawp held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren he lived with Kaleb, Aidan and Lauren and his grandchild soon to arrive, Roman John. He served his country as a part of the U.S. Army. Raymond was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police- New Orleans. He later went on to retire from Miller Brewing Company. Ray was the most amazing, loving man anyone could have ever known. He wore many hats; Father, Grandfather, Friend, Mentor but more specifically he was our Hero. He will be incredibly missed as we attempt to pick up the pieces from the emptiness in our hearts. We are so blessed to have had him in our lives. Daddy and Pawp, until we meet again please continue to watch over us just like you have our entire lives. We love you more than words can describe. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Charles Borromeo on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 9:30 AM till 11:45 AM with a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum following Mass. In Lieu of flowers, if you wish, donation can be made to the St. Jude Foundation. Arrangements under the direction of H.C.
