She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Laplace and Destrehan for many years. She is survived by her beloved husband Albert Hitt, Jr. of 58 years. She is also survived by her children Albert Hitt, III (late Annie), Leslie Gautreaux (David), Margo Brockman (Jeff), Eddie Hitt (Beth), and Rachael Troxler (Johnny). She was Maw-Maw to Jessica (Michael), Jason (Renee), Amanda (David), Katie, Tazz, Andre (Katherine), Joshua, Brady, Alex, Jordan, Austin and Zachary. She was Great-grandmother to Seth, Madelyn, Hannah, Grace and Nathan. She is survived by her siblings Edward Rodriguez (Beverly), Ricardo Rodriguez (Nancy) and brother in-law Harold Hitt (Mary Ellen). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Rose Rodriguez. Her greatest gift was being with her family and her best friends, especially Rosemary Landry, the sister she never had. She always said God put her on this earth to be a Mother and Maw-Maw. Her love was evident every time she was with family or spoke of them. She loved life and was always the first to smile and laugh. She will be dearly missed by all. She was employed as a Dietary Manager for 25 years in various Nursing homes in Jefferson and the River Parishes. She was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, as well as a devoted worshipper in the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. The entire family expresses their sincere gratitude to Dr. Neigel Girgrah with Ochsner and other doctors, nurses and care givers, including Lula Lee. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, LA on Saturday, September 17th from 9:30am to 11am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am with interment to follow in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery, Destrehan.
