Hymel was born on July 17, 1951, in New Orleans to Josepha Brady Hymel and Willie Joseph Hymel Sr., and had been a longtime resident of the Lumberton area. She is survived by her children: Kristin Marie Candies Polito, of Madisonville, La; Kelly Michael Candies and his wife, Erica, of Quantico, Virginia; Kalyn Michele Candies Moseley and her husband, Meekie, of Lumberton, Texas; and Keena Monique Candies, of Lumberton, Texas; and brothers, Willie J. Hymel, of Abbeville, Louisiana; and Morris P. Hymel and his wife, Sheila, of Hahnville, Louisiana. Nellie also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren. A Rosary was recited followed by a gathering of Hymel’s family and friends at Broussard’s in Beaumont, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton. Additional services with family and friends were held with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Feb. 5 at Our Lady of The Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. Interment followed at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont. ===================
