Born October 22, 1934 in Quinter, Kansas to Cozzie Arthur Cheney and Lois Mildred Cox. She moved to Louisiana in 1952, married Allen "Tuffy" Landry, who predeceased her 16 years ago, and was also a life long resident of Norco for the past 59 years. She is survived by her 10 children, Arthur Landry of Baton Rouge, Allen Landry of LaPlace, Robert Landry, of Norco, Linda Landry of LaPlace, Diane Fabre of Harahan, Thomas Landry of Odessa, Texas, Wilfred Landry of Belle Chase, Tama McLean of Frisco, Texas, Michael Landry of Norco, and George Landry of Metairie. Mother-in-law of Pat Landry, Maggie Landry, Cindy Landry, Candy Landry, Nancy Thrower, and Doreen Landry. Also survived by her 23 Grandchildren, Angie HInchman, Shannon O'Brien, Calvin Landry, Rebecca Reyes, Tina Zibilich, April Davis, Cheney Murray, Jeannine Benoit, Nicole Tregre, Christine Landry, John McLean, Kirk Fabre, Jr., Danielle Landry, Thomas Landry, George Guarino, III, Adrienne Wilkins, Jeffrey McLean, Jessica Kerr, Catherine Landry, Brian Landry, Michelle Landry, Karleigh Landry, and Lynleigh Landry, 28 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also survived by her sister, Elma Smith, and her brother-in-law, Lester Messer, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Special friend of Tammy Crater, Jeannie Jeanfreau, and Wanda Zajicek. A member of First United Methodist Church and a Board Member of The American Legion Post 195 Women's Auxiliary. She loved reading, fishing, baking, and gardening, especially her lemon, lime and cherry trees. Also, she enjoyed making her special pepper jellies and mustard as well as keeping up her rock garden. Her most treasured times were spent with her family. The Landry family would like to extend an enormous Thank You to Dr. Laura Brinz, along with her amazing office staff, and The Carpenter House Hospice and their entire team of employees for going above and beyond to provide medical care with such commitment and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the First United Method Church, 301 Bamboo Road in LaPlace. Viewing will be from 9:00am-11: 00am, followed by "Celebration of Life" service conducted by Pastor Reverend Regina Hickman. Interment, St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.
