Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stcharles/photos/obits/2016 and click on the name of interest. ========== Montero is survived by children Charlotte Bourgeois (Wayne), William Waldrop, Kenneth Waldrop (Jessica); grandchildren Claire Schaubhut, Lindsey Matherne, Seth Waldrop, Ashley Waldrop and Maylon Waldrop; great grandchildren Triston Schaubhut and Nova Windecker; brother Austin Stroud (Faye), and Linda Stroud Lamb (Larry). Montero was preceded in death by parents Orville Stroud and Edith Romine Stroud; sister Jo Dean Stroud Gillum (Bud); brother Gary Stroud (Barbara), and husband L.J. Montero.She was born on Dec. 12, 1942 in Wright City, Texas, to Orville and Edith Stroud. Montero graduated from Gaston High School in 1960. Montero was a resident of Luling for 51 years and retired bridal consultant for Dillard’s and preschool teacher at First Baptist Church of Luling. Her children remember her as a warm, devoted mother who left an impact on everyone she came in contact with and a caretaker to all. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life at visitation scheduled Friday, Dec. 2, from 6 – 8 p.m. with a service to follow at First Baptist Church on Paul Maillard Road in Luling. A private service will follow on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Garden of Memories in Metairie. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the American Cancer Society in her name. ===================
