After proudly serving his country, he moved to New Orleans in 1946 where he resided until he lost his home to Hurricane Katrina. He then relocated to Bayou Gauche with his daughter and son-in-law for the next 10 years before moving to Ashton Manor Assisted Living in Luling. Zeringue’s career with Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette spanned nearly 30 years. Throughout his life, he exemplified integrity to his faith, family and country. He enjoyed volunteering at St Raphael’s Catholic Church, offering service to those in need, visiting casinos, playing bingo, watching football, dining and gardening. He maintained a garden until the age of 93, donating vegetables to family, friends, and neighbors. He was always willing to tell stories about his Navy days, sing a hymn or patriotic song, and share about his Medal of Honor. Over the last year, Noel made many new friends with the residents and staff of Ashton Manor. His family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Ashton Manor and St Catherine’s Hospice for their patient and loving care.
