CHANDLER Born & died 28 Nov 1898 Hesekiah James CHANDLER 18 Mar 1902 - 18 Apr 1902 Notes from Robert Vernon, 10 Mar 2001 Despite reports that the cemetery had been destroyed I made a trip there just over 10 years ago and found the cemetery to be in fairly good shape although obviously abandoned. Mature trees had taken the cemetery but one had no trouble visiting all the graves. There are graves in the cemetery that have no headstones and some, at that time, had eroded to the point that if headstones were present they could have fallen into the grave. I did not go probing around to see if headstones had fallen into graves. It appeared to me that T. J. Bankson was probably the last burial in the cemtery. However, some of the head stones were modern and polished in appearance so it led me to believe that they had been added years after the date of death. I have also heard this cemetery referred to as the Woodward cemetery and it is obivious because of the number of burials by this family. Perhaps though S.J. Youngblood was the first burial thus the name. ************************************************ File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/sthelena/cemeteries/yblood2.txt
