STATE OF LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND DEVELOPMENT Maintenance Unit and Resident Engineer's Office, Montpelier, LA This 2 acre location was acquired by the LA DOTD on the 7th of January, 1948. It was purchased for $400 from Mr. Earnest Davis. There was a maintenance gang working out of this location up until the mid '70's. Currently, the location is used for storage and serves as a base for the St. Helena Resident Engineer. The resident engineer's office was moved to this site around 1983. Mr. Roland Maurin is currently assigned as the engineer to St. Helena. His office is responsible for the inspection of construc- tion sites in the parish. Construction projects include off- system bridges and road and bridge construction and rehabilita- tion. Anyone with questions about construction in this area can call the office between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If this office is not in charge of the particular job, they can direct calls to the proper person. **********
