Separate and community belonging and pertaining to the Estate of Mrs. Mary Lee deceased and being in said Parish of St. Helena. You will notify Isaiah Hart and Hugh Hall to attend at such time and place as you may fix to assist you as experts making said appraisement. And how you execute this confirmation you will make due return as required by laws. Respectfully represents that his wife Mary Williams departed life in the Parish of St. Helena about 1867 leaving one minor son of her marriage with your petitioner _____ Andrew J. Lee. That she also left a tract of land in the said Parish of St. Helena containing about 238 acres in community with your petitioner of which an inventory and appraisement has not yet been made and also several personal effects. That she also left one minor son from her first marriage with Hezakiah Williams viz Samuel Williams. That tutors and under tutors have not yet been appointed to said minors. That your petitioner is the father and natural tutor to the first named A.J. Lee and asks to be confirmed as such. That there are some outstanding debts against the Estate of the deceased which render the sale of the property necessary. Wherefore your petitioner prays that and inventory and appraisement of the property belonging to the Estate of the said deceased wife Mary Lee in community with your petitioner real and personal in St. Helena Parish, be made, that a family meeting comprised of ____________( Blank) be convoked. And holden before S. B. Draughon Notary Public. To recommend Tutors and under tutor to said minors. And to advise the most advantageous ________of the property of said Estate for the payment of debts are such other advise as their interests may require That S.B. Draughon After considering the foregoing petition, it is ordered that an inventory and appraisement of the property belonging to the Estate of Mrs. Mary Lee deceased in the Parish of St. Helena and that is community with her surviving husband be made. That S. B. Draughon Notary Public be authorized to make said inventory Assisted by ___________& ___________ experts. That a family meeting of five of of the relatives, and in default of relatives of the friends of said minors A.J. Lee and Samuel Williams be convoked and holden before said Notary for the purpose of recommending Tutor and under to said minors. Confirmed by the Senate of the State and qualified as such, Did by authority of a the Honorable Probate Court of said Parish of the date of the 5th of February. ______ and hereto ____ for reference and proof rendered in the matter of the Succession of Mrs. Mary Lee late Parish Deceased proceed, at the residence of James Lee her surviving consent of said deceased to make an Inventory and appraisement of the property real and personal belonging to the Estate of said deceased and that in Community with the said James Lee. And having Sworn said James Lee to make a true faithful presentation of all such property in said Parish. And having also duly sworn Isaiah Hart and Hugh Hall free hold residents of said Parish who are over the age of twenty one years old as appraisers. And called on John D. Grice and Rufus L. Pray of said Parish as witnesses, we commenced Inventory at the hour of 7 O clock a.m. of said day when the following named and described property was presented and valued as community property tract ______. One Tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in St Helena Parish in Township One South of Range 6 East. Comprised of several fractional parts of the section, the title papers not being now present we can not give the number of the section all entered in the name of James Lee. Containing in all Two Hundred and Thirty Seven and a half acres more or less with all the improvements therein, bounded North by the Mississippi State Line and an Entry claimed by ______ East by Newton Martin and vacant lands. South by vacant lands and West by Newton Easley valued at Two Hundred and Ninety Six dollars and 80 cents or one dollar twenty five cents per acres $296.80. And there being no other property presented at this time in said Parish That the above Real Estate in Community accounting by appraisement to Two Hundred and Ninety Six dollars and 80 cents. We have closed said Inventory and appraisement at the hour of 11 O clock A.M. of said day. In Testimony of which said appraisers, witnesses and witnesses and parties have hereunto set their hands and Subscribe their names with me Notary. Draughon Notary Public To the Honorable Judge of the Probate Court of the Parish of St. Helena, Louisiana: To respectfully presented: the petition of James C. Lee of said Parish. Representing that his by nature and love the tutor of Calvin J. Lee minor the issue of his marriage with Mary Belue now deceased. That she had one child previously to his marriage with her, Samuel Williams the issue of her marriage with Hezakiah Williams deceased. That by a family meeting recently conducted and holden before S.B. Draughen J.P. of said parish he your petitioner was recommend as Tutor to said minor Samuel Williams and Calvin J. Lee and William J. Lee under tutor. That said family meeting advised the sale of the land held in community between said deceased and petitioner on terms and conditions mentioned in the proceedings of said family meeting towich that. Lots as mention on diagram of said lands exhibited before said family meeting numbers 3,5, and 6 be sold for cash and lots 1, 2 and 4 be sold on credit of over two years with 8% interest from the day of sale. Wherefore petitioner prays that an order ___ directed to the sheriff of said parish authorizing him to sell the lands mentioned in the inventory of the Estate of Mary Lee deceased on the terms advised by said family meeting that all cost and charges be paid out of the proceeds of sale and________ relief. Me, Isaiah Hart and Hugh Hall of said parish who are free holders over 21 do solemnly swear that we will make a faithful and just appraisement of the property belonging to the estate of Mary Lee deceased and that held in community with her surviving husband James Lee of said parish as the same may be presented according to the best of our knowledge so help me GOD. 16, February 1869.
