K. Gorman State of Louisiana Parish of St. Helena} Know all men by these presents that this day before me E. L. Watson Recorder in and for the Parish of St. Helena State of Louisiana, duly commissioned serving and qualified personally came and appeared Julia Gorden wife of Henry Gorden Dcd. Frank Gorden and Alford Jackson all residents of said Parish & State, here acknowledging that for and in consideration of the price, sum and conditions here in after expressed and stipulated they do by these presents grant bargain sell covey transfer assign and set over wit a full guarantee against all troubles debts mortgages claims evictions donations alienations or other encumbrances whatsoever unto D. K. Gorman also of said Parish & State here present purchasing and accepting for himself his heirs and assigns and acknowledging possession and delivery thereof all his rights titles interest and claim in and to a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in St. Helena Parish said State containing One hundred and thirty (130) acres more or less as far ? of J. B. Womack as ? already marked out and bounded as follows to wit: North by lands of Rich Womack East and South by here Vendors and West by D. S. Gorman. To have and to hold the said land unto the said purchaser his heirs and assigns t? their proper use and behoof forever and the said Vendors for themselves their heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever by these presents herby subrogating the said purchaser to all his rights and actions of warranty which he has or may have against his own vendors or against all preceding vendors with full power and authority to exercise the same according to Law. This sale and transfer is made and accepted by the parties & this contract for and in consideration of the price and sum of One thousand ($1000.00) dollars to be credited on our mortgage notes now in possession of this vendee D. K. Gorman the receipt of which we acknowledge to be the same as cash in hand. The certificate of mortgage required by article 3364 of Rays revised civil code of Louisiana is waived by the contracting partied hereto. Thus done and signed at the residence of D. K.
