McKay to A. Breeden State of Louisiana) Parish of Ouachita) Be it known that on this day before me Benjamin D. Sheppard Parish Recorder and ex Officio Notary Public in and for said Parish and State Personally came and appeared Margaret Breeden now the wife of Jeremiah McKay residents of said Parish and State who declared and acknowledged (althat) for being a Legal forced heir and representative of her mother Elizabeth Ann Breedin Decd wife of Paul Breeden of the Parish of St. Helena State of Louisiana that her said deceased mother at her death left besides personal property a tract of Land Situate Lying and being in St. Helena Parish containing Four hundred acres more or less upon which the said Paul Breedin and her said mother resided in Community with the Said Paul. That Subsequent to the death of her Said mother and without an inventory thereof her father the said Paul Breeden Sold and transferred to Two of her Brothers viz: Ahab Breeden and Champ - Terry - Breeden by Notarial Act. This undivided Interest in the said tract of land for a valuable consideration fully set forth in Said Notarial Act of conveyance before S. B. Draughton, Notary Public. That said Ahab and Champ T. Breedem now reside on and have possession of Said tract of Land and have so resided since the the death of their mother. That in consequence of the great distance which She resides from said Land and inconvenience in Attending the Courts in the Settlement of the Estate She is desiringus of Selling her interest in the Said tract of Land and improvements and appurtenances thereunto belinging and do by these presents absolutely Sell transfer Let and Convey deliver unto the said Champ T. Breeden all her right title Interest and claim in and to the the said tract of Land and through her said deceased mother For and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five dollars Cash in hand paid at or before the Signing of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the said Vendor being herein authorized and impowered to appear and act by her said husband the said purchaser being present and accepting in presence of me Recorder and in presence of Michael Kearney and William C. Hooper Legal and Competant witnesses who also sign with said parties on this Second day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty Eight. The parties waiving the certificates of mortage required by Article 3328 of the Civil Code of Louisiana her Attest Margaret X McKay Michael Kearny mark Wm C.
