On April 15, 1981, Bryan Dykes, Mayor of Montpelier, cut the ribbon that officially opened the Montpelier Branch of the Bank of Greensburg. This business is housed in a pre-fab build- ing which is very adequate. Hilary Watson served as first Branch Manager with June Dykes and Linda Travis as assistants. Mr. Watson was followed by Kenneth Ducote. When Linda Travis re- signed, Beverly Dyer "signed on". She and June Dykes are the sole employees now. Someone from the Main Bank serves as a courier, transport- ing the deposits and other transactions daily. This business provides a service to the community, and is utilized by most businesses and a lot of residents in town. The Bank of Greensburg was organized in 1905 and has always been a strong financial institution. *******
