     The Montpelier Pine Garden Club was organized July, 1968, and

federated January, 1969.  Charter members:

     In its almost 25 years, the club has planted trees, main-

tained an area with flowers in Montpelier (the change of the

highway took this spot!), sponsors with another groupe the clean-

ing of the Cemetery twice each year and encourages the growing

of flowers by placing a plaque in different yards each month to

recognize an outstanding one.

     Six of the original members continue to be members.  Others

have joined the Club through the years to keep the membership at

about twenty members.
