Another and perhaps last Revolutionary Soldier in St. Helena Parish, La. has fallen, Joel Foster died 11 August 1851, 89 years of age, born August 15, 1762 in Gloucester, Co., of a patriotic family. It is said his grandfather took up arms in defense of his country at 90 years of age. After the Revolution, Mr. Foster moved to N.C., lived a few years in Georgia, then to St. Helena Parish, La., with his third wife who survies him and lives on the place where he died.
