All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ The Amite Progress, February 26, 1942 Funeral Tuesday At Pine Hill Church Funeral services for Euel Bennett were held at Pine Hill Methodist church near Greensburg Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Sam R. Gordon, Amite Baptist pastor and the Rev. H.E. Williams, Roseland Baptist pastor conducted the services. Pallbearers were five sons, Cicero, Virgil, Fayette, Elmo and Clifford Bennett and a nephew Elbert Bennett of Hillsdale, La. Interment was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Mr. Bennett was a lifelong resident of St. Helena parish. He was a son of the late Sam Bennett and Mrs. Bell Williams Bennett. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Mattie Dillon Bennett, the following six sons and five daughters: Mrs. Albert (Son) Alford of Wilmer; Mrs. Charles O'Brien of Greensburg; Cicero and Virgil Bennett both of Camp Blanding, Fla., Elmo Bennett of the Grangeville CCC camp; Clifford, Fayette, Willie Beatrice, Mattie Maude, Ruth and J.Y.
