He was 63, a native of Jena. He was a veteran of World War II. Religious services were held at Hollabaugh-Spindle's Wooddale Memorial Chapel Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Stafford Rogers and the Rev. George Terrell. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Gass Bumgardner, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Miss Kathryn Lee Ann Smith and Miss Amy Bumgardner, both of Baton Rouge; two sons, John Larry Bumgardner, Baton Rouge, and James K. Bumgardner, New Orleans; four sisters, Mrs. Wilhelmina Elkins, Robeline, Mrs. Beth Sistrunk and Mrs. Ada Clarie Brown, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. Mary Bass, Slidell; two brothers, Fred E. Bumgardner, Macon, Ga., and James E. umgardner, Shreveport. Preceded in death by a brother, Francis M. Bumgardner, and his parents.
