MRS. ADDIE GARTMAN HOOVER died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday at Seventh
Ward General Hospital.  She was 87 years old, a native of St.
Helena and a resident of Independence.  Regilious services were
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in
Independence, conducted by Rev. harry Carswell.  Burial was in
Stevens Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Stanley R. Hoover and Leo B. Hoover
of Independence; a daughter, Mrs. Stella Almeter of East Aurora,
N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. Lessie Palmer of Pine Grove; and a brother,
J. B. Gartman of Denham Springs and four grandchildren.
