MONTGOMERY, HELEN

Helen Montgomery, age 84 years, went home to be with the Lord on 
Monday, July 24, 2006. Her Homegoing Celebration commemorating her 
life will be held on Monday, July 31, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope 
Baptist Church, 1807 LaSalle St. Reverend Jamaal Weathersby 
officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour 
of service. Relatives and friends of the family; members of New Hope 
and Sunlight Baptist Churches; employees of the Federal Reserve Bank, 
Social Security Administration and Orleans Parish School Board are 
invited to attend. She leaves to cherish her many precious memories: 
her husband of 63 years, Manzer Mongomery, Sr.; 3 daughters: Janice 
Montgomery, Patricia Montgomery (Moses Cage, Jr.) and Carol Montgomery 
Barrett (Kenneth); a son, Manzer Montgomery, Jr. (Cheryl); 11 
grandchildren: Juan Woodfolk (Tochema), Leslie B. Williams (Herman), 
Jamie Hurley, Brandi Mongtomery, Tonya Barrett, Akasha M. White (Michael), 
Kendall Barrett, Maryam, Aliyah, Tashan and Manzer Rashan Montgomery; 7 
great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Alice Briggs; a brother-in-law, 
Melvin Jones (Brenda); a nephew, Lionel Brown; a niece, Yvonne Ellis; a 
godson, Ronald Hoofkin; and a host of other relatives. Interment and Rite 
Service at Providence Memorial Park with ascending doves symbolizing the 
commending of the departing soul.
