Sitman Inc., he died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at his residence in Greensburg. He was 86 and a native of Natalbany. He was a lifelong resident of Greensburg, where he served for 43 years as a city alderman. He married Evelyn Lea Sitman and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. He served as a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Interment in Greensburg Cemetery. Survived by his wife; a son, Dr. Holland M. Addison, Jackson, Miss.; a sister, Myrtle Addison Kessler, Arabi; and two grandchildren, Michael Alden Addison and John Patrick Addison, both of Jackson, Miss. Preceded in death by a grandson, Jake Scott Addison; and two brothers, Charles Addison and J.D. Addison. He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University. He was 88 and a native of Liverpool. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army, 361st Engineer Special Services Regiment during World War II. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps beginning in 1933. After the war, he joined the Soil Conservation Service where he served Washington Parish for 35 years until his retirement in 1973. He was a true sportsman, avid fisherman, hunter and environmentalist, with a great love of the outdoors, trees and nature. He was a devoted LSU Tiger fan who began attending games in the early 1920s. He drew a tremendous amount of strength from the red clay St. Helena hills, from his many friends and from the Christian love he received from Day's United Methodist Church for 88 years. He owned a marine store in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., captained charter boats in the Caribbean, developed a resort in Central America and made friends wherever he went.
