MRS. ANNIE JANE PHILLIPS died at 2 a.m. Sunday at her residence
in Kentwood.  She was 78 and a native of St. Helena Parish.
Religious services were held at Pine Ridge Methodist Church at 
10 a.m. Monday conducted by Rev. Angus Carruth.  Burial was in
Pine Ridge Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, James B. Phillips, Kentwood; two
sons, Lawrence C., Pine Grove, and James E. Jr., Kentwood; two
daughters, Mrs. Floyd W. Jones, Trussville, Ala., and Mrs. James
D. Broussard, Baton Rouge two sisters, Mrs. Adie Watson,
Kentwood, and Mrs. Mamie Bradham, Greensburg; two brothers,
Robert Lindsey, Greensburg, and Charlie Lindsey, Amite; 29
grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
