Newsom both of the Parish and State aforesaid. Given under my hand and Seal of Office on this 19th day of June A.D. 1841. Samuel Leonard [his signature] ----- Parish of East Feliciana To the Hon. Samuel Leonard Parish Judge of Ex officio Judge of the Court of probates in and for the Parish and State aforesaid. The petition of Abraham Neasom of said Parish respectfully represents that your petitioner has entered into a civil contract of marriage with Hester A.D. Newsom of the Parish and State afore- said and the case of your petitioner being urgent he therefore prays that the legal time of publication may be dispensed with and that License may issue accordingly - Abraham Neasom [his signature] Let the prayer of the petitioner be granted and License issue accordingly - 19th June A.D. 1841 Samuel Leonard J.P. [his signature] -------- The State of Louisiana Parish of St. Helena Know all even by these presents that we Abraham Neasom as principal and Peter N. Kemp as his security are held and finely bound unto Samuel Leonard Parish Judge of said Parish in the penal sum of five hundred dollars good and lawful money of said State, well and truly to be paid and for the _________ final payment of said sum of money we bid ourselves our heirs executors Administrators and assigns family by these presents, signed with our proper names on this 19th day of June A.D. 1841. Now the condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bonder Abraham Neasom has this day applied to me for license to issue for the celebration of a matrimonial union of said Abraham Neasom and Hester A.D. Newsom of the Parish and State first aforesaid. Now of these should be no legal objection to said union their this obligation to be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue above written date. Abraham Neasom [his signature] O.W. Draughon, an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the Parish and State aforesaid and duly authorized to celebrate marriages in said Parish _____ by this twentieth day of June eighteen hundred and forty-one by authority of the written license issued by the Honorable Samuel Leonard Parish Judge of the Parish aforesaid - Solemnize the rites of matrimony between the within namely parties. Mrs. David [illegible] the named in the presence of one (?) said Justice of the Peace and in that of Ehlue (?) B. Carry, George W. Nesom, Frances Miller, all ____? of the Parish aforesaid who have signed their names hereto with said parties and here being Justice of the Peace as such - they ______? on this the day aforesaid.
