(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, October 21, 1911, page 5 Death of Mrs. Joseph Dille. - Mrs. Joseph Dille, a native of St. James Parish, but a resident of Ascension for upwards of seventy years, died at 5:15 o'clock p. m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Marchand, on Palo Alto plantation, aged eighty-one years. The funeral took place at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with services at the St. Francis of Assisium Catholic church in Smoke Bend and interment in the Donaldsonville Catholic cemetery. Among the relatives bereaved by the death of this venerable lady are a son, Davis Deville, of upper Ascension, and three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Marchand of Palo Alto, Mrs. Melise LeBlanc of Smoke Bend, and Mrs. R. Gautreau of Gonzales. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sincere sympathy is tendered the grief-stricken family by a wide circle of friends.
