(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, January 28, 1911, Image 4 Death of Louis Duhon, Sr. - Louis Duhon, Sr., aged eighty-nine years, a native of Convent, died at 6 o'clock yesterday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. A. Gauthreaux, in New Orleans, and his remains were conveyed to Convent this morning via the Mississippi Valley Railway and interred in the Catholic cemetery at that place in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. For some time past Mr. Duhon had been residing with his son, Theophile Duhon, of Germania plantation, in this parish, but about three weeks ago he went to New Orleans to visit his daughter, Mrs. Gauthreaux. He was taken ill shortly after arriving in the Crescent City, and although everything possible was done to save his life his advanced age rendered the fight a hopeless one and after a fortnight's suffering he closed his eyes and passed peacefully away. Mr. Duhon is survived by four sons and one daughter, who are: L. C. Duhon, of Donaldsonville; Theo. Duhon, of Germania; Audry Duhon, of Pointe Coupee; Emile Duhon, of Whitecastle, and Mrs. Gauthreaux. To these afflicted ones the sincere sympathy of an unusually wide circle of friends and acquaintances is respectfully tendered.
