She was also the daughter of the late Joseph and Mamie Milioto Rollo and sister of Vincent Rollo. She is also survived by five grandchildren. Hinkle, 86, a native of Corning, Ark., and resident ofNew Sarpy for 46 years, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of the lateRosemary Poche Hinkle and father of Patricia Chiasson, Susan Cabibi, Kathleen Pellegrine and Clifford II and the late Carolyn Hinkle. She was the wife of the late Vernon V. He was the father of Brandy, Brandon and Jason Poche and fiance‚ of Kitty Tramonte Louque. He was also the son of Eunice Louque Poche and the late Marvin A. Poche and brother of Stacy Roussel and Randy, Kenny and Marty Poche. He was a training coordinator at Motiva Enterprises, Convent, with 22 years of service, and also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. JAMES - Roger Joan Rousseau, 61, a native of Paincourtville and resident of St. James, died Nov. 30. He was the husband of Gertrude Falgoust Rousseau and father of Lynette Martinez and Kevin Rousseau. He was also the son of the late Roy and Agnes Blanchard Rousseau and brother of Eveline Alleman, Agnes Hymel and Stephen, Eric, Irwin, Roy and the late Adele Rousseau. He was also the son of the late Prudent Sr. and Olphida Simon and brother of Allen, Lawrence, Neil, Floyd and Pelham Simon and the late Eunice Abadie, Blanche Poche, Rose Villnerve, Pearl Attenhoffer and Prudent Jr., Daniel and Vivian Simon. WHANN KENNER - Shirley Mire Whann, 56, a native of St. Rose and resident of Destrehan, died Dec. 5. She was the wife of Robert J. Whann Sr. and mother of Robert Whann Jr. She was also the daughter of Whitney and Victoria "V.V." Cashio Mire. She is also survived by two grandchildren. She was an account clerk at Destrehan Drugs. WHITNEY THIBODAUX - Monsignor Philip Whitney, 80, a native of New Orleans, resident of New Orleans for many years and resident of Thibodaux, died Dec. 5. He was the son of the late Claire Tinney Whitney and Philip Whitney Sr. and brother of Claire Lottinger, Genevieve Darsey, Stanley Whitney and the late Ella, Leo Sr., Stephen and John Whitney. He was a retired priest and, among other assignments, was a pastor at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard. He was ordained in 1947 and appointed a monsignor in 1991 by Pope John Paul II. LAICHE LAPLACE - Imelda Kugler Laiche, 89, a native of Norco and resident of LaPlace for 64 years, died Dec. 8. She was the wife of the late Warren Laiche Sr., and mother of Mary Bickford and Warren Laiche Jr. She was also the sister of Laura Theral and the late Rosalie Laiche and Fritz and Irving Kugler. LOUIS, Miss. - Leana "Joan" Strong Necaise, 59, a native of Bay St. Louis, Miss. and a long-time resident of Luling, died Dec. 23. She was the wife of Robert Necaise and mother of Darnell Orcutt, Victoria Von-Aspern, Linda Falgoust, Amanda Maise and the late Robert Necaise Jr. She was also the daughter of the late Ernest and Rena Holden Strong. RICHARD LEMANNVILLE - Dorothy F. Richard, 59, a native of St. James and resident of Donaldsonville, died Dec. 27. She was the wife by first marriage of the late Joseph Watson, by second marriage of the late Floyd Foster, by third marriage of the late Rosevelt Richard and mother of Lashaun Foster and the Rev. Stanley and Larry Watson. She was also the daughter of the late Alphonse and Viola Jones, stepdaughter of Asilee Jones and stepsister of Alice Denoux, Edna Franklin, Rose Nelson, Lucille Bell, Carolyn Wright and Linda, Michael, Charles, Sterling, Lloyd, Ronnee, Gary and Lawrence Jones. He was the husband of Margaret Russell and father of Rosalind Williams, Claudia, the Rev. Donald, Randy, Danny, Carl, Darron and the late Royal Russell Jr. He was also the son of the late Ernest Sr. and Louvenia Davis Russell and brother of Dorothy Kirklin, Henrietta, Ernest Sr. and Louis Sr. Russell and thelate Gloria Keller, Rosanna Dupard and Jeanetta, Dorthy, Velma, Mack and Raymond Russell. SCHEXNAYDER LAPLACE - Inez "Mitzie" Hosea Schexnayder, 74, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 27. She was the wife of the late Nolan Schexnayder andmother of Ann McKnight and Nolan and Lloyd Schexnayder. She was also the daughter of the late Charles and Maria Hosea and sister of Almena Stayton and the late Thelma Elliott. She is also survived by five grandchildren. STEWART VACHERIE - Benjamin Stewart Sr., 65, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Dec. 22. He was the husband of Doris Stewart and father of Arlene Williby, Demetrice Batiste, Anya Trench, Kareem, Askia, Tonta, Kavis, Nadia, Nashiya, Nikeia Octave and Gregory, Benjamin Jr., Michelle, Troy and Darrin Stewart. He was also the companion of Nermia Jean Butler. He was also the son of Celestine Stewart and the late Morris Stewart and brother of Maudry Brown, Clementine Young, Evelena Sam, Vernia Mae Sheppherd, Irene Sims, Amelia Donald, Merita Williams and Betty and Enoch Stewart. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were Dec. 28 at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. STIPE KILLONA - Georgina J. "Hattie" Stipe, 65, a native and resident of Killona, died Dec. 21. She was the wife of the late Estmond Stipe Sr. and mother of Barbara Lockett, Mercy Francois, Estmond Jr. and Kathy Stipe and the late Bobby Jean Mitchell. She was also the daughter of the late Abraham and Pricilla Jackson and sister of Diana Williams, Ann Jupiter, Joanne White, Dorothy Washington, Bertha and Bertrand Jackson and the late Effie Baloney, Hilda Cummings, Pearl Raymond and Linda, Roosevelt and Peter Jackson. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild. TORRES LAPLACE - Hortense "Nenaine" Torres, 97, a native of Vacherie, former resident of Reserve and resident of Mandeville, died Dec. 27. She was the daughter of the late James and Josephine Torres and sister of the late Fernand, Edmond, Ernest, Eddie and Netter Torres. VITRANO HAHNVILLE - Joseph Anthony Vitrano, 75, a native of Birmingham, Ala., and resident of Luling, died Dec. 26. He was the husband of Dianna Dempster Vitrano and stepfather of Victoria Jackson and Nyra Naquin. He was also the son of the late Paul and Annie Spano Vitrano and brother of Paul Jr. and Nicholas Vitrano. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
