NORCO - Helen Faucheux Duhe, 92, a native of Sellers and a longtime resident of
Norco, died July 30.
She was the wife of the late Eddie E. Duhe Sr. and mother of Margaret D.
Laurent, Kay D. Heurtin, Carol D. Dufresne, Eddie E. Duhe Jr., Jennie Duhe,
James Duhe, Thomas Duhe, Richard Duhe and Linda D. Duhe.
She was the daughter of the late Ursin and Jeanne W. Faucheux and sister of the
late Maitland Faucheux, John Faucheux, Raoul Faucheux, Henry Faucheux,
Roland Faucheux, Maurice Faucheux, Suzanne Elfer, Sylvia Troxler and Irene
Terry.
She was the grandmother of 21 grandchildren and the great-grandmother of 24
great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Ladies Altar Society and American Legion
Auxiliary Post No. 195.
Services were Aug. 2 at 2:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and
interment was in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Mausoleum under the direction of
H.C. Alexander Funeral Home.

LEE
GARYVILLE - Cornelius Don Lee, 28, died July 29 in Houston, Texas.
He was the father of Tyrone Starbert and Angel Starbert and the stepfather of
Aaron Johnson.
He was the son of Juanita Lee and Joe Camel Jr. and the brother of Darnell Lee
and Dedric Camel.
He was the grandson of the late Aldonia Lee.
Services will be today at noon at St. Mark Baptist Church and interment will be in
Marathon Cemetery in Garyville under the direction of Hobson Brown Funeral
Home.

NASSAR
CONVENT - Naheem George Nassar Sr., 78, a native of Lutcher and a resident of
Convent, died Aug. 1.
He was the husband of the late Marjorie M. Nassar and the father of Georgette
Matassa, Patricia Melancon, Bonita Lousteau, N. George Nassar Jr., Vernon
Nassar and the late Namatala Nassar.
He was the son of the late Namatala and Rosalie Nassar and the brother of Michael
R. Nassar Sr., Joseph S. Nassar Sr., Freida Broussard, Antoinette Nassar and the
late Marie Grace and Nassar Nassar.
He was the grandfather of 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 171.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church in Convent. Interment will
be in the church mausoleum under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael Church, P.O. Box 65,
Convent, LA 70723.

ROBERTSON
RESERVE - Sandra Louque Robertson, 43, a native of Lutcher and a resident of
Reserve, died July 31.
She was the wife of Kearney Robertson and the mother of Damian Robertson.
She was the daughter of Virgie M.L. Villar and the late Herman P. Louque and the
stepdaughter of A.J. "Ben" Villar.
She was the sister of Darrell Louque, Shirlyn Summers, Dale Louque, Ellen
Mancuso, Raymond Louque, Lane Louque, Davin Louque, Kirt Robertson, Kevin
Robertson and Kenny Robertson.
Services will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve.
Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Millet-Guidry
Funeral Home.

SMITH
NEW SARPY - Frank Anthony "Smitty" Smith Sr., 56, a native and resident of
New Sarpy, died July 28.
He was the husband of Sheila P. Smith and the father of Tonette Chapman,
Luciana Smith, Keion Smith and Frank A. Smith Jr.
He was the son of the late Wilhemina Singleton and Calvin Smith and the brother
of Calvin Smith III and the late Rudolph Smith and Lionel Smith.
He was the grandfather of five grandchildren.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church in New Sarpy.
Interment will be in New Sarpy Cemetery under the direction of Robottom Funeral
Home.

PAULINA - O'Neil Joseph Bourgeois, 68, a native of Remy and resident of
Paulina, died Aug. 5. He was the husband of Rose Webre Bourgeois.
He was the son of the late Vinzule Sr. and Grace Deslattes Bourgeois and brother
of Mable Lambert, Mary Forsythe, Susann Brown, Gertrude Waguespack and
Vinzule Jr., George and the late Nolan and Raymond Bourgeois.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with
interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

GAUTREAU
GARYVILLE - Alex John Gautreau, 64, a native of Gonzales and resident of
Garyville, died Aug. 5. He was the husband of Amelia Roussel Daigle Gautreau,
father of Craig, Layne, Jeffrey, Chad and the late John Gautreau and stepfather of
Michelle Kinler and Carl Daigle.
He was the son of the late Dennis and Cecilia Decoteau Gautreau and brother of
Lula Bell Brignac, Valburg Fife, Martha Perdue, Shirley Granier, Carolyn Wells
and Vernon, Matthew and Dennis Gautreau Jr.
He is survived by five grandchildren.
He was a retired carpenter.
Services were Aug 7 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at
St. Peter Mausoleum, Reserve.

GRIMES
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Ellis Jake Bobby Grimes, 67, a native of Sellers (now
Norco) and resident of Charlotte, N.C., died July 28. He was the husband of
Vernell Bowie Grimes and father of Trenese Cockerham and Ellis Jr. and Jeffery
Grimes.
He was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Martha Grimes and brother of Agnes
Watson and Joseph, Morris and the late Marshall Grimes.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, four stepchildren and two
great-grandchildren. Services were Aug. 4 at Canaan Christian Center, Charlotte,
N.C.

LEBLANC
LeBLANC HOUMA - Jacqueline R. LeBlanc, 49, a resident of LaPlace, died Aug.
3. She was the daughther of Don Crowdus Sr. and the late Patricia B. Crowdus
and sister of Donna and Donald Crowdus.
Services were private.

LONDON
RIVER RIDGE - Clarence "Buggalee" London III, 51, a native of New Orleans
and resident of Luling for the past 19 years, died July 28. He was the father of
Michelle Strong, Antonio Walter and Darnel and Dennell London.
He was the son of Clarence London Jr. and the late Shirley Mae Douglas London
and brother of Catrina Raynaud, Terry Kenner, Royline Whitted, Denise
McKinsey, Willie Flagge and Donnie, Andrea, Annette, Leonard, Kip and
Cassandra London.
He is survived by eight grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 4 in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, River Ridge,
with interment at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, Metairie.

POLETO
GARYVILLE - Bertha Amedee Poleto, 83, a native of Vacherie and resident of
Garyville for 75 years, died Aug. 3. She was the wife of the late Sam Joseph
Poleto and mother of Judy Toups and Allen Poleto.
She was the daughter of the late Sulpice and Lavinia Weber Amedee and sister of
Sultana Rodrigue, Loranza Blank and the late Georgina Simon, Annette Simon,
Yvette Waguespack, Fedilise Hymel, James Samuel and Norman Amedee.
She is survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 7 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at
St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

PRESTON
RESERVE - Agnes Carter Preston, 85, a resident of Reserve, died July 30.
She was the wife of the late John Preston and mother of Eva Joseph, Audrey
LeBray and Ernest, Norman, John and the late Diane Johnson.
She was the daughter of the late James C. and Mary C. Kelly and sister of Clarence
Carter.
She is survived by 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and seven
great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 6 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at the
church cemetery.

RICHARDSON
METAIRIE - Thurston Raymond Richardson, 73, a native of New Orleans and
resident of LaPlace for nine years, died Aug. 3.
He was the husband of Mary Guillory Richardson and father of Linda Lee, Judy
May, Janis Cullen and Patrick and Stephen Richardson.
He was the brother of Marylyn Walker and Norman Richardson.
He is survived by 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Navy seaman second class during World War II, a former owner of
Richardson Auto Sales and employee of Gerrard Chevrolet.
Services were Aug. 6 in the chapel of Lake Lawn Funeral Home, Metairie, with
interment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

ROBINS
RIVER RIDGE - Edward Harrison Robins, 76, a native of St. Rose and resident
of New Orleans, died July 31.
He was the husband of the late Hazel Robins and father of Lillian Owens, Demetri
Carter and Donald, Kirk, Ronald, Michael, Tommie and Kenton Robins.
He is survived by six brothers, five sisters, 17 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Services were Aug. 4 in the chapel of Richardson Funeral
Home, River Ridge, with interment at St. Rose Cemetery.

CUNNINGHAM
PAULINA - Irvin C. "Peanut" Cunningham Jr., 68, a native and resident of
Lutcher, died Aug. 7. He was the husband of 45 years of Yvonne Ordoyne
Cunningham.
He was the son of the late Irvin "Frog" Sr. and Sadie Cunningham, and brother of
Mary Vicknair, Farell and Eugene Cunningham and the late June Cotton, Joyce
Mayeaux and Carolyn Accardo.
He was a retired captain with the St. James Parish Sheriff's Office, a U.S. Air
Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of the Knights of Columbus,
Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. James Boat Club, Louisiana Sheriffs Association,
Houma Indian Tribe, American Legion and Lions Club.
Services were Aug. 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the
church mausoleum.

FALGOUT
NORCO - Elaine Mary Donaldson Falgout, 72, a native of New Orleans, former
resident of Good Hope and resident of Norco for 50 years, died Aug. 7. She was
the wife of Coral Falgout Sr. and mother of Marion Anderson, Mona Brady,
Donna Bailey, Coral Jr. and Randy Falgout.
She was the daughter of the late Felix and Milda Hernandez Donaldson, and sister
of Warren and Harold Donaldson, and the late Gladys Schexnayder, Roy Jr. and
Gerald Donaldson Sr.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a retired cafeteria manager for Norco Elementary School.
Services were Aug. 10 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with
interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.

INGRAM
LAPLACE - Doris McLain Ingram, 74, a native of Belzoni, Miss. and resident of
LaPlace for 20 years, died Aug. 7. She was the wife of the late Jesse Ingram and
the mother of Suzi Ourso, Gail Ewing and Douglas Ingram.
She is survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were Aug. 9 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, with interment
at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

JOSEPH
RESERVE- Grace Joseph, 88, a native of Mt. Airy and resident of LaPlace, died
Aug. 6. She was the wife of the late Eugene "Shoto" Joseph, and mother of
Audrey Hills, Annette Mizell, Leroy and Reginald Joseph.
She was the daughter of the late Comille and Sydonia Dupre, and sister of the late
Floria Dupre.
She is survived by nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 10 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Reserve, with
interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

KELLER
PAULINA - Victor Keller, 62, a native of New Orleans and resident of Paulina for
28 years, died Aug. 6. He was the husband of Velma Keller and stepfather of Rose
Louque, Tina and Sidney St. Pierre.
He was the brother of Charles Durapall and stepbrother of Edmond Pecot.
He is survived by one grandchild.
Graveside services were Aug. 9 at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

MAGUIRE
LAPLACE - Veronica Robichaux Maguire, 58, a native and resident of LaPlace,
died Aug. 6. She was the mother of Pamela Thiem, Christine Bossier, Patrice
Labit, Janelle and Timothy Breaux.
She was the daughter of J.L. Robichaux, and the late Ethelyn Madere Robichaux,
and sister of Peggy McKinney, Robert, J.L. Jr. and Lynn Robichaux.
She is survived by 10 grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 10 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with
interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

McKINLEY
CONVENT - Andrew "Noot" McKinley Sr., 72, a native of Convent and resident
of Lutcher for two years, died Aug. 6. He was the husband of Karen Taylor and
father of Dianne Adams, Lorraine Love, DeAndra Stewart, Asharria, Akyrria,
Debra, Leshia, Lillian, Orelia, Andrew Jr., Larry, Randolph, Anthony, Carl, Lester
and Dedricke McKinley, and stepfather of Ashantia Taylor.
He was the son of the late Marshall and Mary McKinley, and brother of Lillian
Melancon.
He is survived by 40 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 10 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Convent,
with interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Union.

MELANCON
PAULINA - Christie Marie Melancon, 20, a native and resident of Paulina, died
Aug. 6. She was the daughter of Don and Irene Boudreaux Melancon and sister of
Michelle Lambert.
She was the grandchild of Riley and Emily Boudreaux and Edith Hymel Melancon,
and the late Walter "Buck" Melancon and Marietta Dicharry Boudreaux.
She was a 1999 honor graduate of Lutcher High School and attended Our Lady of
the Lake College in Baton Rouge. She was also a student worker at the Louisiana
Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Services were Aug. 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the
church mausoleum.

MOORE
NORCO - Edwina Hall Hayes Moore, 81, a native and resident of Norco, died
Aug. 5. She was the wife of the late Clarence Moore, and mother of Eloise
Lobostrie, Marietta McCurry, Karen Harris, Donna, Michael and Clarence Moore,
and the late William Hayes Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Anne Rollins and Wheeler Hall, and sister of
Wheeler Hall Jr.
She is survived by 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 17
geat-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 9 at Good Hope Baptist Church, Norco, with interment at
St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan.

MORRIS
LAPLACE - Ethel Mae "Poon" Morris, 70, a resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 7.
She was the mother of Rodney Evans Sr., JoAnn Morris Alexander and Raydell
Morris Sr., and the late Kevin Gray.
She was the daughter of the late Annie Williams and Leo Morris and the sister of
Wilbert Morris, Junius Breaux, Martha Parquet and Audrey Mae Johnson, and the
late John H. Lee Jr.
She is survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 9 at Providence Baptist Church No. 1, LaPlace, with interment
at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.

OUBRE
GARYVILLE - Celine Cambre Oubre, 93, a native and resident of Garyville, died
Aug. 9. She was the wife of 67 years of the late Pierre Oubre Sr., and mother of
Barbara Gausey, Amelia Matherne, Pierre Jr., John and Al Oubre, and Nobie
Freeman.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Amelia Lasseigne Cambre, and
sister of Pearl Duhon, and the late Beunice Laurent, Buell, Ernest Jr., Gerard and
Wesley Cambre. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with
interment at St. Peter Mausoleum, Reserve. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

PERRET
NEW ORLEANS - Roger J. Perret, 76, a native of Edgard and resident of
Metairie, died Aug. 4. He was the husband of Edna Pedeaux Perret and father of
Marily Gastineau, Roger Jr., Kenneth and Ricky Perret.
He was the brother of Lionel, Alvin, Louisell and Marion Perret, Margorie
Amedee and Elaine Becnel.
He is survived by 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was the owner of REP Inc. Commercial Refrigeration and A/C Company for
26 years and director of construction for A&P Food Stores for 29 years.
Services are today at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of All Faiths Funeral Home, New
Orleans, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

PRINCE
LULING - Katherine Theresa Prince, 81, a native of Harrisburg, Pa. and resident
of Luling for 40 years, died Aug. 7. She was the mother of Mary Covan, Gilbert
and John Prince.
She is survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Private services were held.

TASSIN
NORCO - Melodia Cecile Hymel Tassin, 88, a native of St. James and resident of
Norco for 70 years, died Aug. 8. She was the wife of the late George Henry Tassin
Sr., and mother of Earline Lemoine, Melodia Milioto, Kathleen Valicenti, Janice
Gourgues, Dolores Ledet, Randall Sr., George Jr., and the late Darryl Tassin Sr.
She was the daughter of the late Honorat Sr. and Marguerite Becnel Hymel, and
sister of Henry Hymel, and the late Emma Andreman, Maria Basset, Lelia
Arceneaux, Rene Sr., Octave Sr., Honorat Jr. and Roland Hymel Sr. She is
survived by 31 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco,
with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

CAGNOLATTI
GONZALES - Lloyd Andrew Cagnolatti, 83, a native of St. James and resident of
Gonzales, died Aug. 12. He was the husband of the late Clara Sevin Cagnolatti and
father of Claire Mueller and Eva, Yvonne, William, David, Frank, Joseph, Johnny
and Guy Cagnolatti.
He was the son of the late William P. and Haydee Poche Cagnolatti and brother of
Wilba Bourgeois, Phyllis Andry, Mae Fenger and the late Bruce Cagnolatti.
He is survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of St. James High School and Louisiana State University. He
was a retired chemical engineer at Ormet Corp. with 27 years of service.
Services were Aug. 14 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, with
interment at Hope Haven Cemetey, Gonzales.

CERISE
METAIRIE - Lindsey Rene Cerise, 17, a native and long-time resident of Metairie
and recent resident of St. Rose, died Aug. 9.
She was the daughter of Stefanie Neagle, stepdaughter of Harold Neagle and sister
of Michelle Mier, Michelle Cerise, Crystal Neagle, John Hardenstein, Glen and
Donald "Tiger" Cerise and Robert, Elliot and Joel Neagle.
She was a student at Grace King High School and member of Dance Connection.
She was also a former employee of Cafe Roma and Metairie Ridge Daycare.
Services were Aug. 13 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Metairie, with
interment at Metairie Cemetery.

DETILLIER
PAULINA - Alexander Rene Detillier, 4 months, died Aug. 10.
He was the son of Boyd and Anne Detillier and brother of Benjamin and the late
Michael and Matthew Detillier.
He was the grandchild of Rene "T-White" and Marie Millet and Charles "Sonny"
and Marie Detillier.
Services were Aug. 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at
the church mausoleum.

DUPLESSIS
PAULINA - Eldred J. "Dupe" Duplessis, 73, a native of Gonzales and resident of
Paulina, died Aug. 11.
He was the husband of Enola Martin Duplessis and father of Patricia Vicknair,
Elaine Landry and Brenda Louque.
He was the son of the late Sedorise and Martine Braud Duplessis and brother of
Doris Braud, Holden "Pip" and Harvey Duplessis and the late Selma Bercegeay
and Elgin and Velma Duplessis. He is survived by five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services were Aug. 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at
the church mausoleum.

LOUQUE
PAULINA - Shirley Cart Louque, 65, a native of Beaumont, Texas, and resident
of Paulina, died Aug. 11.
She was the wife of the late James N. Louque and mother of Marsha, Sherrie,
Mary Merritt, Camilla, Steven and James Louque.
She is survived by two sisters, two brothers, nine grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Services
were Aug. 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church
cemetery.

GAUTIER
EDGARD - Gertie Oubre Gautier, 95, a native of Vacherie and resident of
Wallace for 90 years, died Aug. 14. She was the wife of the late Lionel Gautier Sr.
and mother of Ora Mae Walls and Lionel Jr., Burnel, Thaddeus, Ronald, Elwin,
Terry and Herbert Gautier.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew Sr. and Nellie Oubre and sister of Elmira
Duronslet, Irene Legaux, Agnelia Becnel, Marguerite Davis, Arthur, Henry and
Paul Oubre and the late Archangel Goings and Andrew and Stanley Oubre.
She is survived by 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with
interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

JACOBS
PAULINA - Margot Gearheard Jacobs, 61, a native and resident of Lutcher, died
Aug. 13. She was the mother of Marguerite "Margie" Cox, Jeanne Saucier and
George and Lee Jacobs.
She was the daughter of Marguerite Faucheaux Gearheard and the late Arthur
Gearheard and sister of William and the late Grant Gearheard III.
She is survived by nine grandchildren. Services were Aug. 16 at St. Joseph
Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum.

JOHNSON
EDGARD - Gloria "Tee-Hee" Johnson, 65, a native and resident of Edgard, died
Aug. 12. She was the wife of the late Oden "Nick" Johnson Jr. and mother of
Renda Roussell.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Brooks and sister of Marie
Simon, Roger Brooks and the late Gertie Mae Mitchell, Anna Rita Lumar, Dolores
Lumar and Irving and George Brooks.
She is survived by one grandchild. Services were Aug. 17 at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.

NGUYEN
RESERVE - Ann Nguyen, 74, a native of Cantho, Vietnam, and resident of
LaPlace for five years, died Aug. 15. She was the mother of Thu Thanh Vo, Hiep
Ngoc Vo, Jimmy Van Vo and Tri Thanh Vo.
She was the daughter of Tri Vo and sister of Thao Thu "Mama San" Nguyen.
She is survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were
Aug. 17 in the chapel of Robottom Mortuary, Reserve.

OUBRE
GARYVILLE - Celine Cambre Oubre, 93, a native and resident of Garyville, died
Aug. 9. She was the wife of 67 years of the late Pierre Oubre Sr. and mother of
Barbara Causey, Amelia Matherne, Lenore and Pierre Oubre Jr. and the late Nobie
Freeman.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Amelia Lasseigne Cambre and
sister of Pearl Duhon and the late Beunice Laurent and Buell, Ernest Jr., Gerard
and Wesley Cambre.
She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Services were
Aug 11 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at St. Peter
Mausoleum, Reserve.

SIMMONS
PARADIS - Warneter "Nita" Simmons, 46, a native and resident of Boutte, died
Aug. 9. She was the mother of Roshanda and Renada Simmons.
She was the daughter of Walter Simmons and the late Mary Alice Scott Simmons
and sister of Annie Scott, Iris Morris, Cecile Thompson and Shirley, Eula, Verna,
Walter Jr., Roosevelt, Early, Harold, Lawrence, Troit and the late Wilson
Simmons.
She is survived by one grandchild. Services are today at 10 a.m. at First Baptist
Church, Paradis, with interment at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.

LAPLACE - Ruth Stucky Camp, 68, a native of Chicago and resident of LaPlace
for 43 years, died Aug. 19. She was the wife of Rodney Camp and mother of Jill
Williams and Teresa "Terri," Brenda, Chris and Tasha Camp.
She is survived by two sisters, five brothers, 11 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

ERDOS
METAIRIE - Ethel P. Erdos, 79, a native of Wall Township, N.J., and resident of
Destrehan for 22 years, died Aug. 18. She was the wife of the late John Erdos and
mother of Jane McCampbell and John Erdos.
She is survived by four grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 21 in the chapel of Lamana-Pallo-Fallo Funeral Home with
private interment.

FREEMAN
KENNER - Florisca Freeman, 73, a native of Edgard and resident of Kenner, died
Aug. 19. She was the wife of Mose B. Freeman and mother of Suzette Conner and
Ralph and Joellis Freeman.
She was the sister of Bonita Walker, Annette Larks, Marie Coco and Clarence
Victoria.
She is survived by seven grandchildren.

HOWARD
VACHERIE - Percy Howard Sr., 78, a native of Vacherie and resident of
Marrero, died Aug. 15. He was the husband of Ruby Zeno Howard and father of
Rose Garrison, Carmen Jackson and Tyrone, Elston, Carl, the Rev. Percy Jr. and
the late Melvin Howard.
He was the son of the late Ernest and Nettie Lewis Howard and brother of
Dorothy Batiste, Oregon Howard and the late Ruth Harris and Penny and the Rev.
Ernest Howard.
He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was a retired
welder at Avondale Shipyards.
Services were Aug. 20 at Mt. Pilgrim Fourth Baptist Church, Algiers, and at
Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at First Baptist Church
Cemetery, Vacherie.

JAQUILLARD
HAHNVILLE - Henry C. Jaquillard, 57, a native of New Orleans and resident of
Hahnville for 30 years, died Aug. 17. He was the husband of Janet Robert
Jaquillard and father of Carrie Marshall and Tricia Bordelon.
He was the son of the late Alvin Jaquillard and Louise Morgan Gogreve and
brother of Dolores Gee and William Morgan.
He is survived by three grandchildren.
He was a retired production technician at Union Carbide and he was a graduate of
Alcee Fortier High School and served as a U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant,
1961-1964.
Services were Aug 20 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church,
Hahnville, with interment at the church cemetery, Taft.

LAPLACE - Myrtle Audiffred Brady, 83, a native of Reserve and resident of
LaPlace for 55 years, died Aug. 21. She was the wife of the late Sidney Brady and
mother of Brynn Conrad and Sylvia Brady.
She was the sister of Vivian Wuest and the late Ruth Brady.
She is survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded
in death by two grandchildren.

MONTZ - Willie "Dunk" Coleman, 61, a resident of LaPlace, died Aug. 18. He
was the husband of Ruth T. Coleman and father of Anastasia Bourgeois, Chad and
Ronaldo Coleman and stepfather of Robert and Neesa White.
He was the son of the late Henry Sr. and Eliza Coleman and brother of Carrie
Donsereaux, Mary Lee Williams, Joyce Brown, Janet Dixon, Rubie Dodson and
the late Henry Coleman Jr.
He is survived by two grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

NEW ORLEANS - Sedonia Thomas Duplessis, 84, a native of Edgard and
long-time resident of New Orleans, died Aug. 18. She was the mother of Shirley
Parker, Leatrice Mitchell, Marilyn Johnson, Roland and Michael Gibson, Wayne
and Kevin Thomas and Salvadore Duplessis.
She is survived by 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 15
great-great-grandchildren.

interment at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Edgard. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.

EDWARDS
EDGARD - Kim M. Edwards, 39, a native and resident of Edgard, died Aug. 21.
He was the father of Kyle Edwards and Jeremy Morris.
He was the son of the late Roy and Florestine Edwards and brother of Patricia
Lee, Bridget Pierre, Kentrell and the late Roy Edwards Jr.

GASSEN
LULING - Aline Gassen, 76, a native of Slidell and resident of Luling, died Aug.
21. She was the wife of Sidney Gassen Sr. and mother of the late Sidney Gassen
Jr.
She was the daughter of the late Florian Sr. and Josephina Whitlow Dubuisson and
sister of Richard and Florian Dubuisson Jr.
She is survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She and her husband operated The Goody Booth for many years on River Road
and she is retired from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, where she was a
receptionist for 12 years. She and her husband were the king and queen of the
Krewe of Lul in 1986.
Services were private.

BOUTTE - Betty Gilbert Harris, 47, a native of New Orleans and resident of
Boutte for 28 years, died Aug. 18. She was the wife of Lenix Harris and mother of
Tony Gilbert.
She was the sister of Jacquelyn and James Gilbert, Robert Gorden, Lizzie
Alexander, Scherline Bailey, Mary Charles, Ellie Palmer and Dorothy Goodridge.
She is survived by three grandchildren.
She was a cook for Seafood Galore in Paradis.

EDGARD - Olympe Bartholomew Johnson, 90, a native and resident of Edgard,
died Aug. 18. She was the mother of the late Beulah and Oden Nick Johnson.
She was the sister of the late Milton Ichel and Lionel, Alma and Mathilde
Bartholomew.
She is survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

LAFAYETTE - Leroy J. Langlois, 86, a native of Gramercy and resident of
Lafayette for 50 years, died Aug. 22. He was the husband of Judith Langlois; son
of the late Edward Langlois of Destrehan and the former Nita Bienvenue of Luling
and brother of Ferol and W.J. Langlois and the late Shirley Foret.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a retired engineer.

MAURIN
LAPLACE - Alice Mae Montz Maurin, 80, a native and resident of LaPlace, died
Aug. 21. She was the wife of the late Henry "Foot" Maurin Jr. and mother of
Gary, Greg "Za" and the late Gilbert Maurin.
She was the daughter of the late Armand Sr. and Aline Montz Maurin and sister of
Armand Jr. and Nem Montz.
She is survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was a retired elementary school teacher.

NEW ORLEANS - Sylvia Ann McGee, 59, a native of LaPlace and resident of
New Orleans for 35 years, died Aug. 14. She was the companion of William
Washington and mother of April John and Sylvia Shorty.
She is survived by five grandchildren.

Orleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

PIERCE
CHALMETTE - Eldridge P. "Boo" Pierce, 64, a native of Destrehan and resident
of St. Bernard for 42 years, died Aug. 20. He was the husband of Betty Molero
Pierce and father of Angela Russell and David and the late Lori Pierce.
He was the son of the late Louis Sr. and Corrinne Relimpio Pierce and brother of
Aleita Engeron, Leola Schexnayder, Thelma Aronysi and Louis Jr. and the late
Jackie Pierce.
He is survived by three grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Destrehan High School, a two-year U.S. Army veteran and a
retired gas tester for Shell Oil Co.

LAPLACE - Amanda L. Poche, 10, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Aug.
21. She was the daughter of George Gardner III and Trudy Poche and sister of
Jennifer Gardner Pierre, Dakota Poche and George "Skeeter" Gardner IV.
She was the grandchild of Barbara Jouty Poche, Janette Nobles, George Gardner
Jr. and the late Arnaud "A.J." Poche; step-grandchild of Johnny Nobles and Shirley
Gardner and great-grandchild of Rita C. Lynch.
She was a student at Glade School.

GARYVILLE - Earl "Jack" Roberts Sr., 66, a native of New Orleans and lifelong
resident of Reserve, died Aug. 22. He was the common-law husband of Lottie
Reed; former husband of Ida W. Roberts; father of Elder Montrell Roberts, Latoya
Ellis, Evangelist Earl Jr. and Myron Roberts and stepfather of Louise and Percy
Atkinson, Michael Wanda, Cedric and John Bickham and Linda and David Reed.
He was the brother of Lawrence Bourgeois. He is survived by two grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Estanio and Leana Nelson and sister of Marcel

MARRERO - Rodolfo Castro DelAlcazar, 60, a native of Lima, Peru, and resident
of Lutcher for many years, died Aug. 23. He was the husband of Betty Boudreaux
DelAlcazar and father of Misty, Freysa and Brian DelAlcazar.
He was the brother of Alicia Vergara, Nidia Jo, Juana Chukuong, Judith
Vercarceh, Francisco Unyen and Cesar and Armando DelAlcazar.
He is survived by four grandchildren.

resident of Vacherie, died Aug. 23. She was the wife of the late Joseph Ernest
Guidry Sr. and mother of Agnes Taylor, Ruby Giroir and Philip, Joseph Jr. and
Larry Guidry.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Bernadette Webre Murry.
She is survived by 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous
great-great-grandchildren.

RESERVE - Gerald J. Guillot, 78, a native of Edgard, former resident of
Napoleonville and resident of Reserve for 55 years, died Aug. 25. He was the
husband of Eve Simoneaux Guillot and father of Mitzi Duplessis and Chris, Brent
and Clyde Guillot.
He was a retired chemist at Godchaux-Henderson Sugar Refinery.
He is survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

VACHERIE - Ethel Chopin McKnight, 59, a native of Vacherie and resident of
Marrero, died Aug. 23. She was the wife of the late Edgar McKnight Jr. and
mother of Edgar III, Elliot, Melvin and the late Paris Ann McKnight.
She was the daughter of Amie Harry Chopin and the late Joseph Chopin and sister
of Rosemary Wafford, Bessie Oubre, Josephine Jacks and Edward Sr., Ivan, Alvin,
Calvin and the late Raymond and Edmond Chopin.
She is survived by 10 grandchildren.

and Warren, Willie and the late Walter and Emile Pierce.

CONVENT - Vivian Lambert Rizzuto, 88, a resident of Hester, died Aug. 25. She
was the wife of the late Batassano Rizzuto and mother of the Rev. Mariano
Rizzuto, Virginia Luquette and Roy, Frank, John, Anthony, Joseph, Jimmy, Harold
and the late Batassano "Sunny" Rizzuto.
She is survived by 24 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and four
great-great-grandchildren.

ST. JAMES - Warren "Skip" Scieneaux, 65, a native and resident of St. James,
died Aug. 22. He was the son of Curl Scieneaux and the late Laura Jones
Scieneaux and brother of Jenita Pearley, Phillidee Louis, Curtis and Claude, Lloyd,
Romalis, Edward and the late Clovis Scieneaux and Juanita Vaughn.
Services were Aug. 28 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, with interment at

TAYLOR
KILLONA - Dwayne Michael Taylor Sr., 30, a native of Reserve and resident of
LaPlace, died Aug. 21. He was the husband of Zelvinlynn "Linda" Smith Taylor;
father of Dwayne Jr., Dwanda, Da'Jon and Kajia Taylor; and stepfather of Roger
Jr., Ariane, Johnathan and Carl Burks.
He was the son of Amell Taylor McGee and Lawrence Shorty Jr.; stepson of
Willie McGee Sr. and Juanita Shorty ; and brother of Willie McGee Jr., Brandon
and Juan McGee, Lauren and Alisha Shorty, Trina Morgan, Latasha Laury and the
late Shellena McGee.
He was a driver for Truck Transport Inc. of LaPlace.
