She was the daughter of Gelinda Johnson and Warren Batiste and stepdaughter of Alonzo Johnson; she was the daughter of fiancee Sean Parker. She was the sister of Nicole Harris and Alexander and Travis Batiste and stepsister of Unita Green. She was also the granddaughter of Jessie Mae Wigley and the late Gilbertine and Joseph Dillon and Mary and Robert Batiste. Services were April 3 at Israelite Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at C.F.B.A. Cemetery, Paulina. CARAWAY BATON ROUGE - Anne Amedee Caraway, 87, a native of Vacherie and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 1. She was the wife of 61 years of Earl Caraway and mother of Sandra James and Kay McNemar. She was also the sister of Helen Hopkins and Bea Giuliante and was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Services were April 3 in the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, with interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park. DESLATTE PAULINA - Keni Lynne Deslatte, 22, a native of Lutcher and resident of Paulina, died April 1. She was the daughter of Kelly Matherne and the late Kenneth "Guppy" Deslatte, stepdaughter of Louis Deroche and sister of Kimberly Deroche. jhe was also the granddaughter of Rita Deslatte, Hubert and Lorraine Matherne and the late Andy Deslatte. She was a student at Ascension Vo-Tech and a cashier floor manager at Matherne's Supermarket. Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. Visitation starts with 8 a.m. FRANCOIS RESERVE - Cornelious P. Francois III, 49, a native and resident of Reserve, died March 23. He was the father of Chenelle Arceneaux. He was also the son of Aldonia W. Francois and the late Cornelious Francois Jr. and is also survived by four sisters and eight brothers. He is also survived by two grandchildren. Services were March 31 at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ, Reserve, with interment at Montz Memorial Cemetery, Montz. PARRINO PAULINA - Sherri Lynn Parrino, 19, a resident of Grand Point, died April 1. She was the daughter of Felix and Rita Faye Roussel Parrino and sister of Brad Parrino. She was also the granddaughter of Anna Mae Parrino, Lucy Duhe and the late Felix Parrino Sr. and Clifford Roussel. She was a student of Southeastern Louisiana University and a part-time employee of Matherne's Supermarket. Services were April 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church mausoleum. RUIZ RESERVE - Elmo "La Sauce" Armand Ruiz, 95, a native of Barton and resident of Reserve for 82 years, died April 2. He was the husband of the late Lavinia Cortez Ruiz and father of Rosemary Deslatte, Fay Richard, Junior Ruiz and the late Clarence "Hickey" Ruiz. He was also the son of the late Frank and Angelina Ruiz and brother of Bertha Duhon. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one grandchild. Services are today at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery. He was the husband of Marjorie Hymel St. Pierre and father of L.J. St. Pierre Jr. He was also the son of the late Maurice and Elodie Berthelot St. Pierre and brother of Wesley, Jean Baptiste, George St. Pierre and the late Cecil Hattier, Josephine Galloway, Melba Messina and Albin, Rose, Roger, Maurice Jr., Dennis, Richard and Edmond St. Pierre. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild. He was a retired farmer, school board employee and maintenance employee of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. TREY JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Judy Ann Trey, 60, a native of Mooresville, N.C. and resident of Kingsland, Fla., died March 31. She was the wife of Art C. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step- grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren. She was a 1937 graduate of Southwest Louisiana Institute and joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was a radioman third class when discharged. TAYLOR CONVENT - Robert Killian Taylor, 83, a native of Crossett, Ark., and resident of Paulina, died April 3. He was also the son of the late Sidney Sr. and Eva Montz Clement, and brother of Margie Guidry, Alden Clement, and the late Sidney Clement Jr. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Airy and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 15. He was the husband of the late Lois Tate Vicknair, and father of Eugenie Gluth, Lila Glankler, Carole Cordes and Rene Vicknair Jr. He was also the son of the late George and Josephine Decareaux Vicknair, and brother of Theresa DeSoto, and the late Oneida O'Roarke, Stella Engolio, Clara, Lily and Lillian Vicknair. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a retired employee of Copolymer Companies in Baton Rouge. WADE LULING - Niki Kay Nelson Wade, 53, a native of Houston, resident of Luling for 18 years and resident of Amman, Jordan for the past three years, died April 7. She was the wife of Stephen Wade and mother of Ebony, Gamini and Yael Wade. She was also the daughter of Paul and Dorothy Nelson and sister of Mike Nelson. She was a 1965 graduate of Hahnville High School, and also of the University of Pittsburgh and Ateneo de Manila University in The Philippines. She was a former nurse's aide at St. Charles Parish Hospital and a nuclear medicine technician at Memorial Hospital in Houston and Arlington Hospital in Virginia. In 1973, she joined the Peace Corps and taught school in Bostwana, Africa. Memorial services were held April 16 at Bible Center Church, Luling. 04/21/01 CHAMPAGNE WESTWEGO - Oscar J. Champagne, 65, a native of St. Charles Parish and resident of Westwego for 43 years, died April 17. He was the husband of Evamae Duett Champagne and father of Diane Comardelle, Kirk, Darryl and Kenneth Champagne. He was also the brother of Doris Bolding, Lucille Gaubert, Marie Gaubert, Earline, Herbert, Willie, Louis, Edward and Andrew Champagne. He is also survived by six grandchildren. Felton, 76, a native and resident of Garyville, died April 16. HOWARD VACHERIE - The Rev. Ernest Howard Jr., 61, a native of St. James Parish and resident of Vacherie for many years, died April 13. He was the brother of Dorothy Batiste, Percy Sr. and Oregon Howard Sr. He was the pastor of Greater Woodville Baptist and Highway Baptist churches. He was a former librarian and assistant principal at Fifth Ward Elementary School. He was second vice-president of Central Union Missionary Baptist Assocation, and an executive board member of second District Missionary Baptist Association. MONGRUE LULING - Barbara Touchard Mongrue, 67, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Luling, died April 17. She was the wife of Leo Mongrue and mother of David, Marti, Michael and Rhett Mongrue. She was also the daughter of the late Felix Jr. and Ena Labat Touchard, and sister of June, Felix III, and the late Myron Touchard Sr. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
