D., VILLE PLATTE. --Dr. Haas is a practising [sic] physician of Ville Platte. He is a native of St. Landry parish, born January 2, 1863. His father, Samuel Haas is a native of Alsace, and his mother, Martha Cole, is a native of Louisiana. (For sketch of parents see biography of Capt. Samuel Haas). Dr. Haas was principally educated at Auburn, Kentucky, and Opelousas, Louisiana. He began the study of medicine in 1878, attending lectures at the Jefferson Medical College in 1880-1-2. He graduated in 1882, and upon the completion of his course commenced the practice of his profession in St. Landry parish, in partnership with Dr. W. E. Hawkins. In 1884 they dissolved partnership, and in 1888 Dr. Haas removed to Ville Platte, and has since practised his profession in this place. In 1890 he became associated with Dr. A. E. Arnold in his professional practice. Dr. Haas, though young in years, has had a very successful experience, and he is recognized as one of the leading members of his profession.
