T. T. TARLTON, M. D., GRAND COTEAU.--Dr. Tarlton is a native of St.
Mary's parish, born April 10, 1847.  He is the son of John and Frances
A. (Caller) Tarlton.  John Tarlton was married twice; our subject being
the son of the second wife.  John Tarlton was a native of Maryland, and
at different times resided in South Carolina, Texas and Louisiana.

The subject of our sketch is a graduate of St. Charles College, Grand
Coteau.  He was there from 1864 to 1869, in which year he graduated.  He
was a student at the Medical College of Alabama, located at Mobile, from
which institution he is a graduate.  He began practice near Washington,
St. Landry parish.  In 1872 he removed to Pattersonville, St. Mary
parish, and in 1873 to Ellis county, Texas, where he practised [sic]
eight years.  In 1883 he returned to Grand Coteau, where he has
practised his profession since that time.

He married, in 1881, Miss Constance Littell, daughter of Isaac and Mary
(Haw) Littell, of Grand Coteau.  To them have been born five children--
two sons and three daughters.

The Doctor owns two plantations of about three hundred and seventy-five
acres, near Grand Coteau, on which he cultivates cotton and corn.  Dr.
Tarlton is a successful physician and useful citizen.  Both he and his
wife are members of the Catholic church.
