Sutton, William G. Knox all of the Parish of Saint Landry are held and firmly bound unto William C. C. Claiborne Governor of the State of Louisiana and to his successors in Office in the sum of Two thousand Dollars -Which said sum We hereby bind ourselves, our Heirs, Executors and Administrators as aforesaid to pay -Whereas the above bound Samuel Hamilton hath been appointed Coroner of the said Parish of St. Landry -Now the Condition of this obligation is such, that if the said Samuel Hamilton shall well and faithfully execute and perform all and singular the duties by Law attached to that Office, then the above Obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue -Done at Opelousas this 11th of June 1814 Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of D.
