All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Andrus To Chacérés Release of Mortgage Recorded June 21st 1836 Know all men by these presents that whereas by act passed before George King Parish Judge in & for the parish of St. Landry on the first day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty four Beaurepair Chaceré and Constant Chacere became the joint purchasers from Lewis Andrus of a certain Lot situated in the town of Opelousas bounded on the South by Convent Street & on the North by South Street containing fourteen or fifteen arpens being the same purchased by Lewis Andrus at the sale of the Estate of the late Gertrude Daigle deceased, on the following terms & conditions to wit. For the price and sum of Six hundred and five dollars payable one half on the fifteenth day of April 1835 One half on the fifteenth day of April 1836. The said Beaurepair and Constant Chachere obligating themselves also to deliver to the said Andrus a release from all Mortgages upon said property in favour [sic] of the Estate of the said Gertrude Daigle deceased from the administrator of said Estate. And whereas the said sum of money has been duly paid & the other said conditions complied with, the said Lewis Andrus has released and does hereby release cancil [sic] & annul, any mortgage or alien in his favour on said premises as fully & effectually as though the same had never exited. In testimony whereof he has hereunto signed at Opelousas in presence of Caleb Green Jr. and Benoit Debaillon & before George King Parish Judge & ex-officio Notary Public in and for the Parish of St. Landry this twenty first day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty six.
