Belliard Sale of Land Recorded 30th June 1836 This act of Sale made this thirtieth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Gaspard Belliargas of the State of Louisiana and County of Opelousas of the one part & John Louis Belliard of the same State & County of the other part Witnesseth That for & in consideration of the sum of One hundred dollars Cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Belliargas has bargained and sold & does by this act grant bargain sell alien convey set over & deliver unto him the said Belliard all his right & title to a certain tract of land situated in said County of Opelousas & known as the North West quarter of Section Numbered Thirty two in Township number six South Range number Three East, said tract containing one hundred & sixty one acres 82/100 as per Receiver's receipt No. 1478. To have & to hold said tract of land to him the said Belliard his heirs & assigns without any guarantee whatever. The purchaser dispences [sic] with the certificate required by the 3328th Article of the Louisiana Code. In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto signed in presence of Caleb Green Jr. & Moses Littell & before George King parish Judge & ex-officio Notary Public in & for the Parish of St. Landry the day and year above written.
