Thompson and James Morrison Sale of Land Recorded 11 June 1836 This Deed made & entered into this tenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty Six between Elias Blunt of the State of Louisiana and parish of Rapides of the one part & Joseph D. Thompson of the same State & parish of St. Landry & James Morrison of the said parish of Rapides of the other part witnesseth--That for and in consideration of the sum of Five thousand dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, sell, alien, convey set over & deliver unto the said Joseph D. Thompson & James Morrison a certain tract of land being the North East Quarter of Section number thirty four in township Two north range one East, containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less. To have & to hold the above described tract of Land to them the said Thompson & Morrison their heirs & assigns forever. And the said Elias Blunt for himself his heirs &c. the title to the said tract of land with all and singular its privileges and appurtenances free from the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever to the said Thompson and Morrison their heirs &c. does hereby warrant and forever defend . the purchasers dispense with the certificate required by the 3328th article of the Louisiana Code. In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto signed in presence of Caleb Green Jr. and James Andrus and before George King, parish Judge & ex-officio Notary Public in and for said Parish of St. Landry the day and year above written-- Elias x Blunt -- Joseph D.
