All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Jean B. and Gerard Chiassons To Moses Littell Sale of Land Recorded 2nd August 1836 This act of sale made this second day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Jean Baptiste Chiason and Gerard Chiason of the State of Louisiana and County of Opelousas of the one part & Moses Littell of the same State & County aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars Cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Chiasons have bargained and sold & do by this act grant bargain sell alien set over & deliver unto the said Littell a tract of land situated in the S. W. district of Louisiana & being the North West quarter of section No. Thirty in the Township No. Three South of Range No. Five East containing one hundred & sixty one 65/100 acres as per Register's Certificate No. 1516, being the same heretofore transfered [sic] to said Littell by the said Chiasons. To have and to hold the said tract of land to him the said Littell his heirs & assigns free from the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever. The purchaser dispenses with the certificate required by the 3328th Article of the Louisiana Code. In testimony whereof the said parties have hereto signed in presence of Christopher Steel and Jean Bt.
