All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Antoine Curvelo To Margaret Queen wife of Kephart Sale of Land Recorded June 13th 1836 This deed of sale made this thirteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred & thirty six between Antoine Curvelo of the State of Louisiana & parish of St. Landry of the one part and Margaret Queen, wife of Simon Kephart, herein acting by and with the consent of her said husband, of the same State & Parish of the other part Witnesseth. That for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Antoine Curvelo has bargained & sold and does by this act grant bargain, sell, alien, convey, set over and deliver unto her the said Margaret Queen a certain Lot of ground situated in the Town of Washington being Lot No. 17 bounded on the north by land of Matilda Goodrich, on the West by land of John Crawford on the South by land of John Caswell & on the East by land of [blank] Bellair To have and to hold the said Lot of Ground to her the said Margaret Queen her heirs & assigns forever--And the said Curvel for himself his heirs &c. the title to the said land with its privileges & appurtenances free from the lawful claims of all persons whatever does warrant & will forever defend--The certificate required by the 3328th Article of the Louisiana Code is despenced [sic] with by the purchaser--In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto signed in presence of Caleb Green Jr. & Benoit Debaillon and before George King Parish Judge and ex-officio Notary Public in & for the said Parish of St. Landry, the day & year above written--The said Simon Kephart, wife of the purchaser, also signs as approving this act of his wife--Antoine Curvela--Margaret Queen--S.
